Tabs
Since 0.2.0Notes open in a browser-style tab strip: click a tab to switch, click its
× (or middle-click) to close, right-click for a context menu.
Cmd/Ctrl+click (or middle-click) a Sidebar row to open it in a new tab
without switching away from your current one. History revisions and
Present-as-tab both open as their own read-only/embedded tabs alongside
your regular notes.
On a phone there’s no tab strip. Your open tabs are listed at the top of Home, where you can switch to one, close it, or press and hold it for its menu. Since 0.17.0
Arrange tabs
Drag a tab left or right to move it. A line shows where it’ll land when you let go; press Esc to cancel. Pinned tabs and the other tabs are arranged separately: a tab moves only among tabs of its own kind. To move a tab into the pinned group, pin it.
The window still moves when you drag the empty part of the tab strip.
Pin tabs
Right-click a tab and choose Pin tab to keep it open. A pinned tab:
- Shows only its icon, with its title when you hover over it.
- Stays at the start of the tab strip, before the other tabs.
- Has no close button, and can’t be closed until you unpin it: Close is unavailable in its menu, and the Close tab shortcut and middle-click leave it open.
- Stays open when you choose Close others or Close all.
- Keeps the note it shows. A note you open while a pinned tab is active opens in a new tab beside it.
To unpin a tab, right-click it and choose Unpin tab. It moves to the start of the unpinned tabs.
Pinned tabs and the order of your tabs are saved on this device only. They aren’t part of the vault, so collaborators don’t see them.
